The History of the Province of Batangas

Long before the arrival of the Spaniards, a settlement lied on the shores of a vast body of sea water, which according to most Chinese records, was the center for Chinese merchants and other traders of neighboring countries - Malays, Mongoloids, and Australians - who transported goods for barter with the products of the natives.  The traders trusted the natives for they never failed to keep their part in any bargain or transaction, even if it took the foreigners seven to eight months to return.  The place was first called "Bonbon" by the natives, derived from the word "bongbong" a piece of bamboo being used by the natives to catch sea food.

Best Tips for a Successful Interview

Take note on some of the following tips that you can apply whenever you are invited for a job interview:

1. Be sure of the time and venue of your interview. This is often overlooked due to overexcitement.  Write the date on your planner or on your mobile phone.  There are companies who are not anymore accepting applicants who are late on the interview or those applicants who request for rescheduling of interview.

2. Read something about the Company. This is tremendously important.  This is for you to have some inputs in case the interviewer asks for your knowledge about the company.  Have the articles printed and keep on reading until you are really familiar with the Company.

Best Techniques and Tips for Passing the CPA Board Exam

For one to be a passer in the CPA board exam, he/she has to know first what it takes to be a CPA.  It is not about luck as some of the passers will say.  Those CPA Board passers have exerted their effort and perhaps have applied the following techniques and tips for passing the CPA Board Exam:

1.  Prepare early – Some students on their first year often mention that they have still a lot of time to study,  that they do not need to get serious about accounting and preparing for the board exam.  I once interviewed a CPA Board topnotcher and he said he started reading the financial accounting books when he was first year college and on the succeeding years he was already answering review materials.  If you are already on your later years in college, it is not too late, start now and open your notes, focus on those topics which you are not familiar with.  If you have no materials, borrow from your friends or search on the internet.

2. Think that you are a CPA already – Before I took the board exam, I already put the acronym “CPA” after my name and wrote it on the first page of my reviewers and books.  It reminded me of my goal of becoming a CPA.  During my review I was not thinking of negative thoughts like, “what if I fail?”.  You should always think that you will pass the board exams.  If others can pass, you can also pass.

How to Study for Major Examinations Without Sweat

Many students often find difficulty in studying for major exams more especially when the exams are fast approaching and more likely that they would find themselves cramming one day before the examination date.  Here are some tips that you may apply if you think that you are having the same problem in studying for major examinations:

1. Determine first the coverage of the exams.
Teachers usually give the coverage of the examination a week or two before the exam period.  You must take note of their pointers for you to have a preview of what’s going to appear in the examination and that you may not waste your time in studying the topics which are out of the scope of the exam.  If your teacher never gives the class the coverage of the exam, take the initiative to ask the teacher about it.

2. Have a file of your quizzes with you
Past quizzes are very important tool for you to review the topics which you do not yet understand fully. It will also help you determine the kind of questions that your teacher may possibly give you in the exams (as most teachers get some questions from the quizzes).

How to Appreciate Accounting

Let us do accounting!
Well, some of us perhaps get too quickly upset or bored whenever accounting subjects come to get our way.  It’s a normal thing but we never realize that in our everyday life we do some accounting of our expenses, how much is owed from us or how much we owe to our classmates or our co-workers or even to our parents and friends.  Accounting may give you some headache but it does give you some benefits.  Those people who have knowledge in accounting have more advantage over those people who know nothing about it.
I am giving you some of the ways to appreciate accounting. Let's count one to three!

ONE  If you are a business administration student and later on you will be applying for a job after your graduation, most businesses would require you to do accounting work.  As the saying goes, “sacrifice is temporary but success is forever”.  You should always remember that the sacrifices that you experience right now will pay off soon and studying accounting is sometimes an arduous task but you soon later on understand its importance.  Be resourceful, read your accounting books, watch a youtube video or browse the accounting topics on the internet those which you are not familiar of.

TWO Do not think so much of the difficulty of accounting, think on how you can solve that difficulty.  We know that if we are focusing so much on the problem, we cannot really see a clearer view on how we can solve it.  In accounting, whenever you are given a problem to solve, what you need to do is to go back to the basic accounting principles.  The basic principles of accounting will be your guiding light.  Review the revenue and expense recognition principle, historical cost principle, matching principle etc. (even the fundamental concepts such as periodicity, stable monetary unit concept and the entity concept.)  If you are unfamiliar of these principles you may search the internet or get a book and remember their meaning.
